Calculus.

Adrian Said:

Whats a career in aerospace engineering like?

We Answered:

You probably need to do research on the career before declaring and that means more than asking the general public. It's best if you can contact one of the aerospace firms or even your professors, and ask them if there is anyway you can visit or speak with someone in that career and ask them.

What are some careers in the field of aerospace engineering?

We Answered:

Aerospace engineering is one of the most hot subjects to be studied in engineering.Aerospace enginers chiefly deal with aircrafts, avionics(flight simulation), and related areas as defence and design of outer space aircrafts. An aerspace engineer can find great employment oppurtunities in research projects undertaken by space agencies. They can have emplyment in design of civilian aircrafts manufacturing(no doubt aerospace engineering was previously called flight technology). An aerspace enginner can use his concepts of fluid mechanics, statistical mathematics and applied physics to come up with an improved design. It has also been found that most of the aerospace engineers end up being a professional teachers rather than opting for high paying engineering jobs. That is the sort of interest this field generates to people once they are into it.

What is Aerospace Engineering all about?

We Answered:

Good question!

I recently graduated with a BS in aerospace engineering. The coursework is very similar to that of mechanical engineering, but includes classes that focus on aerospace structures, stability and control, propulsion, aircraft and spacecraft design, etc.

Realistically, aerospace engineers can work on just about any type of engineering project, but they are especially well suited for work on cars, engines, airplanes, missiles, satellites, ships, etc. In my case, I now work as a systems engineer on satellite ground stations. My work has no direct connection to the aerospace discipline but I am still very able to perform my duties.

Hope that helps! I know I found the major to be very enjoyable even if it is a lot of work!
