An older Toyota Corollla would be good. I've owned nothing but Corollas & Camrys for years now. Take it to a repair shop and see if they will inspect it before you buy it. I would buy a car from an individual, such as in the paper, on Craigslist, or just by driving down some secondary roads/state highways and seeing the cars people have put in their yards etc to sell.

When you find a car you might be interested in, get the year, make model and mileage, and the condition of the car; go to www.kbb.com and plug in that info into the private buy section. That will give you an idea of what an individual may be asking for it as a fair price (you'll want to pay less though).

I spent a few years detailing cars to pay for my college. The key to good detailing is the getting the right products. You won't find what you need at your local automotive store. The best products you can get come from a company called "Auto Magic" They have an online step-by-step training you can check out on their website http://www.automagic.biz/.

Be very careful to practice any machine compound work on a car that you don't care about damaging. My first attempt at removing scratches was a Mercedes Benz. I was trying to get a scratch out and I burned right though the paint. Very expensive mistake but it wasn't long before I was restoring paint jobs to look nearly knew.

Without Auto Magic I could never have learned the things I learned. If there is an Auto Magic rep near you give him/her a call. They will go out of their way to train you on everything you need to know just to get you to buy their chemicals and their chemicals are the best in the business hands down.
