I think any planner will do as long as it has a lot of space (cause there's a butt load of stuff to write down that professors just sprung outta nowhere when it wasn't on the syllubus!). Also, has the days of the week, months, and...I think that's it ^_^;

I use a Hello Kitty or Morning Glory planner XD haha, and I'm in college, but, I like how I can refill the pages when it's all full =] so that's a plus for kiddie cute planners ^_^

Most colleges now give each student a student email address and account that includes the features you are talking about as well as direct access to their fin aid, enrollment info, grades, event schedule, bulletin board and such.
They spend a lot of info buying these features for their students, but not promoting them. Find out if you school has one. If not you can use free software on Yahoo or google that includes calendars and planners.

Hi,
I found it best if I read the text materials before the lecture. That way the lecture was an explanation of something I already knew something about. It helped a lot. It also meant that if there was something that I didn't quite 'get', I would be able to ask an intelligent question about the subject in class.

Secondly, I found that going to see the instructor when something doesn't make sense (right away, before getting confused) helps to improve grades.

Finally, I found that I performed best on an exam if I did not study withing 24 hours of the test, it takes some planning, and a bit of getting used to, but it makes a huge difference. If you need to, you could always pretend that the test is two days early.

Oh, and always do the 'suggested' homework, even if it isn't for marks - 9 times out of 10 it turns up on the exams!
