I think its time for people to take personal responsibility for their action and quit complaining about how the "man" put the screws to them.

this is EXACTLY why we are in this crisis, sub prime loans. We loan money to people who have a history of not paying bills and give them a these large loans and we wonder why we are in this mess and then we have those that default on their loan complaining about the lender forcing them to take the loan in the first place or some other excuse.

Grow up. If you take a credit card because they offered you a T-shirt I would say you need to stay in school a little more.

Don't open CC's specially in the economy we are in right now. A good way to build credit is with small things, like having a celphone under your name and always paying it on time, keeping your bank account in the positive at all times and even consider opening a secured cc with your bank, like you having to pay before hand $300.00 at least.

If the student has not been exposed to work, doesn't understand the value of the dollar and he is given carte blanc via a credit card, disaster can happen. We established credit at the college book stores for the 3 sons. Several strange charges appeared like tennis and golf balls, candy bars galore etc. but the expenses were within bounds.

I would encourage you not to get any more credit cards. The money that you do make should work for you. Why use someone else's money when yours works just fine. Start a savings account (I have mine in a high-yield Money Market Account) where you will earn interest on your money. A credit score is only useful if you are trying to get loans or more credit (or debt). Things like cars, electronics, etc. I recommend be purchased with cash, so you won't need a credit score for these. As for a house, you can find a lender that does its own underwriting, so they ca look at things like rent history or bill payment history to determine your worthiness for a loan.

Don't let these revolving credit accounts suck any more money out of you.
