I have a big question relating financial aid for college students and highschool students applying? We Answered:
Just because someone has a social security number (or what looks like a social security number) doesn't make them eligible for fin aid. They probably both have Individual Taxpayers Identification numbers. These are not social security numbers even though the card looks very similar with the same amount of numbers. If hers starts with a "9" it probably is. I'm sure after 20 years Dad knows his status, even if the daughter can't articulate it.I've always found I get the best results by reading through these; and after a couple of times they can usually tell you which they are. Good luck and good for you for doing this...
I do it too!!
You must be one of the following to receive federal student aid:
• U.S. citizen
• U.S. national (includes natives of American Samoa or Swain’s Island)
• U.S. permanent resident who has an I-151, I-551, or I-551C (Permanent Resident Card)
If you’re not in one of these categories, you must have an Arrival-Departure Record (I-94) from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) showing one of the following designations:
• “Refugee”
• “Asylum Granted”
• “Cuban-Haitian Entrant, Status Pending”
• “Conditional Entrant” (valid only if issued before April 1, 1980)
• Victims of human trafficking, T-visa (T-2, T-3, or T-4, etc.) holder
• “Parolee” (You must be paroled into the United States for at least one year and you must be able to provide evidence from the USCIS that you are in the United States for other than a temporary purpose and that you intend to become a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.)
If you have only a Notice of Approval to Apply for Permanent Residence (I-171 or I-464), you’re not eligible for federal student financial aid. If you’re in the United States on certain visas, including an F1 or F2 student visa, or a J1 or J2 exchange visitor visa, you’re not eligible for federal student financial aid. Also, people with G series visas (pertaining to international organizations) are not eligible for federal student financial aid.

What are some good points for College Students Deserve Financial Aid?We Answered:
We are young & trying to better our lives by continuing our educations..Most college aged peoples parent's do not have the money to pay for it..
It's hard to work & pay for college because you can't focus on your classes & homework as much with working all of the time..
I will update it and add more later- my mind is kinda blank right now

How would financial aid help students in college? We Answered:
Well it is pretty obvious and common that most students going to college do not have any funds saved up (parents) to pay for school so they need financial assistance to take care of tuition, books, housing, etc... It comes in handy if you are working part time or not at all and going to school full time..There are many necessities that are needed that financial aid helps. Speaking from experience I am a JR in college 23yr old with a toddler and work part time...I go to school full time so I always were eligible for grants and loans if needed. It helps pay for my tuition books and apartment bills. It actually helps me live since I am not living with parents...because a part time job is not enough to take care of a child let alone yourself.Mae Said:
What's the best financial aid available for college students? We Answered:
School can be affordable, and, if you don't make more than a certain amount, you might be able to get grants.Go to fafsa.ed.gov and check to find out what your EFC is. Put in a few schools you are interested in and see what happens.
Some schools allow you to work full time while you go to school.
At least with student loan debt it is really and investment in yourself, rather than a car which loses value!
To save money look at tuition PLUS fees to find out how much it costs to go to a school. Some public schools are more expensive than private schools, when all is added up.
If you want, you might do a year at a community college, check where they have articulation agreements so you can transfer credits, and then go to a school which allows you to earn credits through CLEP or DANTES exams.
If you've worked at a place such as McDOnalds even, check to see if the school you are interested in accepts ACE transcribed credits (www.acenet.edu).
Good luck!
