Internships For College Graduates

Ashley Said:

What is considered work experience for fresh college graduates?

We Answered:

A few internships,or some kind of summer work/study program would be acceptable. Most jobs typically look for at least one to two years of experience so if you have even one internship you kept for a while, that would be good.

Earl Said:

How important is GPA for College Graduates?

We Answered:

GPA does matter when looking for a job, especially in a specific field like engineering. A friend of mine with a masters in physics recently had trouble finding a job because of his GPA (around a 3.1). It's an indication of how much you've learned - and no one wants an engineer who did badly in physics, math, or engineering courses.

Morris Said:

Where are the best places for recent college graduates to look for jobs?

We Answered:

careers.scienceontheweb.net - I found such internship info here. It has lots of internships, job openings and scolarships for college students.

Vicki Said:

are there internships for people that are NOT in college, or graduates located in NYC?

We Answered:

Probably not. Many places get a tax write-off for college kids.

Your best bet is to move to a smaller city, and get an entry-level job at a television station, cable station, radio station etc. Stick around and you'll be crosstrained.
