with a 3 year warrenty it is amazing and for only $999, :( that would probably cost £800-900 here.

2gb is very good and should be enough
hd2600 , this is high end dedicated gfx card which would be good for advanced gaming and photoshop and ultra textured programs
160gb is very large hard drive, it is about 650 1 hour divx videos, 36000 mp3s
1.3megapixel webcam, nice feature :)
brand new wireless N which is very fast
the built in blurtooth is nice feature too.
fingerprint reader is very nice safety feature so that if someone steals your laptop it will be almost useless as they need your finger print
1gb turbo memory is very fast RAM that is made by intel, it is very very fast and efficient and should help you with videos etc.

since its only $1000 , you can go crazy and go shopping. :)

hi dont pay too much attention to the brand, just make sure it's small if you travel, has around 2gb of ram, dual core processor, AMD Turion 64 x2 if you want to save some money, more below, as for a Mac or PC stick to what you know, we support both platforms and have many people purchasing macs because they look so good, but getting some software packages can be an issue.
