Scholarships For First Generation College Students

Carmen Said:

First-Generation College bound junior in high school. i need help please!!!?

We Answered:

The federal government will supply up to $5500 per year for school, depending on your family's income. Some states give money for school, too. Where do you live? California, for instance, gives up to $16,000 per year for school (it's called a CalGrant). Go to your state's student aid website. You should be able to google it.

Larry Said:

What scholarships are available to me?

We Answered:

You should be eligible for plenty of scholarships. You are definitely eligible for pell grants and grants from universities simply because your parents are deceased, provided you do not have a high income. Contact the financial aid office at the school you will be transferring to, to find out scholarships they have available. There are plenty of first generation student scholarships. Many public schools have programs such as Student Success Services which cater to first generations, see if that office has anything for transfer student. There are also tons of LGBTQ scholarships http://www.scholarships-ar-us.org/schola…
Also check out fastweb or go to the bookstore there are plenty of scholarships books

Randy Said:

Could you tell me of some scholarships that are not very well-known?

We Answered:

Go to the library. Grab your self a book that has a list of scholarships. Anything that is on the web is popular. You can also look for a book in Barnes and Nobles or any other book store. Also try amazon.com
