Apply for federal financial aid! Visit www.fafsa.ed.gov to apply online right away. If you are currently attending, it is still not too late to apply to receive aid for this semester (Fall 2007). Now, because you are under age 24, unmarried, and do not have children or dependents of your own for which you provide more than 50% support for, you are likely to be considered a dependent student on your FAFSA. This means that parent information and income will also be required. This is true regardless of if you live with them or not.

Are you working on a master's/doctorate program? Are you an orphan or ward of the court? Are you a veteran fo the Armed Forces? If you can answer Yes to one of those questions, then parent information will be waived.

Once you file your FAFSA, it will take your school about 2-3 weeks to receive the information, then notify you if any other documentation is needed to complete your file.

Once you sumbit any documents that are required (for example, some student must submit tax returns and other worksheets), your file will be complete and your school will notify you of your grant and/or loan eligiblity via an Award Letter.
