Time Management For College Students

Any time management suggestions for college students? We Answered:
I dont know where you go, or what you are studying, but I am in my Senior year and found that studying outside of my room and away from friends that are going to distract me are the best bet. I tried studying in my room, locking my door, putting up an away message, but the truth is, it still takes about twice as long to get things done than if you would simply go somewhere AWAY from the distractions. Also, if you go through notes you took during class that night, they will make a lot more sense to you and you should remember the material better, cutting down studying time during finals allowing you to make better use of the time. Also, ask your professors if they think there is anything you can do. You'd be amazed at what they have to say, and how simply sitting down with them every once in a while could give you a little bit of an edge in the class. I'm not saying to suck up to them, but get personable with them, if at all possible, so they can better understand your situation and that you are always busy. Also, try hitting the gym on a daily basis. Youd be surprised how scheduling other things during your day will keep you scheduled and ahead of your work so that you do have the time for those other things. College isnt ALL about grades, you have to have fun to. Good Luck!Harry Said:
I am a SAHM and a Full Time college student, I need help with time management, or a schedule!!!?We Answered:
I work full time and went to school full time and have a small child and a husband and I did work when my child went to bed, on my lunch break and things like that. You can do work when your child is napping, playing on his own or when he's sleeping. I took online classes for some of my courses too and that's good because you can do things on your own time. Take him to grandma's for the day or someone else and get your work done. The key is to not procrastinate. When you have time to do extra or get ahead, take advantage of it.Allison Said:

Eat a balanced diet, don't deprive yourself of your favorite "fat goodies", just eat lots less - like one or two cookies a day. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables - they fill you up AND they are good for you. Drink those 8 glasses of water every day and sneak an extra glass in when you really gotta have that chocolate. It also helps to have cut up vegetables in the frig for snacking and don't buy empty calorie things like chips, ding dongs, etc. It helps if you don't get hungry so try eating 6 small meals a day, that way you are always "full" and less likely to eat those fat monsters.Work out an hour a day, alternating cardio and weights. Eat less, more more is the key to losing weight - I'm not sure 50 pounds in 9 months is healthy, depends on your current weight and age (easier to lose when you are younger).
For every hour you spend in the classroom, plan on at least 3 hours of study time at home. You may not have much time left over for a social life, but maybe you can hook up with someone at the gym trying to do the same things you are - get into shape, lose weight and maintain a good GPA - all three are easier to do if you have a buddy to do them with!
Good luck to you!

TIme Management: College Student Pls Help?We Answered:
Well.. college is actually pretty easy. If you have a system that worked for you in high school you should be fine in college. I'm really loving my do nothing and get A's system. lol But really it's not as big of a deal as you think it is. The work isn't that much harder..With college you are just more on your own where as in high school the teachers and such would try to help you more.. but really no biggy. I think you'll be fine.

efficeint time management for full time college students? We Answered:
Well, first off, i'm a bio major with 3.73 gpa (i took some Theology class with gave me B- !!) In first term of my freshman year, i had a GPA of 4.0 which went straight down by the second term. By comparing both terms, i was able to conclude what actually got me the 4.0 grade. First of all, always sit in the front, make eye contacts with the professors, simply make them know that you ARE trying to get good grades. Most professors take this into consideration when giving out grades. And second, the most important one, is to study EVERYDAY. I don't mean study like 5 hours a day. Just open up your book and study an hour or two and just go over everything you learned. This will make you able to participate in class activities. Because you basically know things. If you study 1 or 2 hours everyday, you won't have to crash and you will get good grades. In the first term of my freshmen year, I had a 3 hour gap 3 days a week. In those times I ate lunch and straight to studying and sleeping once in a while lol. and in the second term of my freshmen year, i had a one hour gap in which i hung with my friends, i have gotten 3.3 GAP because of that. study everyday! that's the answer to getting good gradesBeth Said:
Why is Time Management training so important for college students ?We Answered:
Time management is important because, for the first time, YOU are in charge of your life. No one is going to call your parents if you don't go to class. If you're taking large classes, your absence won't even be missed. Instead of going to school during fixed hours every day, you may have one class two afternoons a week, another class three mornings a week, etc. You have to get yourself up and going every day and establish a regular routine of class attendance and studying. It's really easy to get distracted by dorm life -- there's always someone around to talk to and hang out with, to play video games with, etc. Your entire semester grade may depend on a midterm and final (or sometimes just a final exam) and it's REALLY difficult to do an entire semester's worth of reading/studying at the last minute if you've been slacking off. Time management and personal discipline are two of the most important skills for success in college.
