Generally here students take a PSAT in about the 10th grade (three years before graduating high school). It's a practice test to let you see where you are at score wise. In the 11th and 12th grades you take the real test. The counselors at my school recommended that we take three times. The score is used to get into college. Some schools have a cut-off score. If you don't score over a certain number they won't even look at your application. Make sure you get plenty of sleep the night before and eat breakfast!

Your chances of getting accepted aren't great, since admission to nursing school is very competitive, but they might overlook your grade point average if you do well on the SAT or ACT, since you have gotten your GED.

SAT = m + w + r
1511 = (r + 13) + (r - 8) + r
1511 = 3r + 5
1506 = 3r
r = 502

m = r + 13 = 502 + 13 = 515

w = r - 8 = 502 - 8 = 494
