How to deal with a neurotic 2nd grader at art camp?We Answered:
Talk to him. You may be able to see what makes him happy. Let him see you mess up and how you handle it. Try to keep him happy and pacified. There are two teachers in the room and maybe one of you can remove him if he acts out (don't touch him though). Maybe talk to him about what would make his work "perfect." If the two of you can work to figure it out, you can fix it. If he likes working with you to fix his work, you can tell him that you won't work with him if he does not calm down.Send an email or a note (something written) detailing the child's actions to the head of the program. The behavior is unacceptable and and he could hurt himself or others (including you). Make sure that you keep dated records on the child (maybe in a 25 cent notebook) and send written notice to the head whenever the child is dangerous and keep record of this. Really your supervising teacher should do this; you're just an assistant. But as a certified teacher, this is how I would handle the situation. I always send written correspondence recording the behavior to those above me and if they do not do something and someone gets hurt they get sued. However, I do not think that a high school aged student can be sued. The teacher is responsible for the children; sit him by her and let her deal with him if you cannot.

How to get into a good college? We Answered:
Hi there, you sound like you're on the right track to getting into a great college. Colleges won't see your middle school grades, but if you keep up the work you've done in middle school, you'll be fine. You sound like you're going to be taking some very challenging courses in high school. Just make sure you're not taking on too much at one time. You don't have to be involved in sports to get into a good college. You do have to be involved in some extracurricular activities, though. So doing the activities you mentioned will be fine.
You don't need to worry about the SATs or ACTs quite yet! Right now, focus on getting involved, challenging yourself, and doing well in your classes.
You sound like you have a lot more questions than could be answered here. I suggest you check out http://www.makecollegereality.com. It doesn't have a lot of information on high school specifically, but you could take a look at the advice on college admissions to help you plan your classes and activities during high school.
It's great to start thinking about college early, but don't get too carried away! Enjoy your high school years and make sure you are doing things that you are interested in.
