Your GPA is in good order for a lot of these schools. I would say its a little low for Georgetown (avg. there for entering grad is 3.7), Stanford (3.7), and Yale (3.8). Out of all these, Johns Hopkins is really considered the best, and I'd look at a comrehensive list of grad schools in IR cause you are missing a lot of top 10 schools like Harvard, Tufts, George Washington ect.HONESTLY, MIT has dropped to the bottom of the top 20 list so I threw them out of my applications list lol, and same with UC Berkeley I just feel like compared to the other programs you listed its not too appealing. Your extra curriculars are really impressive so I think that will deff. help, and yeah you can't judge the whole picture till you get that GRE score, but you come from a decent undergrad program and have good standing so I'd say you have a fair shot. What kind of IR are you planning to focus in, because if you are looking to intern while you are in grad school you need to be in a east coast urban area (im from SD, but go to george washington) and yeah Stanford and Berkeley wont have too many internship opportunities compared to Johns Hopkins which is in the heart of DC, same with Georgetown, or Columbia and Princeton which are accessible to NYC. I mean I think the Africa factor makes you unique, and it'll give your application an interesting spin which is good but you know nothing replaces solid academics.
