i ditched alot of my high classes to smoke weed everyday. and here i am about to join the FBI. i cleaned up my act and made it in life .i love my life. i'm happy. the valedictorian to my high school is doing 15 years in prison for armed robbery. so the answer to your question is no.

UCLA is obviously more convenient, but Harvard is a MUCH better school (also obviously.) If the student is going to college, having gone to summer school at Harvard will look great all over the world! Really looks good on a application.

Going to summer school at UCLA only looks good in...L.A!

No I certainly don't think so. Recently attended my 50th class reunion and the ones at the top 50 yrs ago were not the ones at the top now. One of the less popular girls in class is a beauty now---unbelievable,and another not at the top of her class lives the Sweet life in the Gulf states while another one Works for the state CWS. Life is funny and is an equalizer.

Most of the Ivy League and elite school's summer courses for high schoolers are designed to generate money for their institutions. There are very few prerequisites to be accepted and enroll (except pay the tuition). BTW, having attended these courses has very little bearing on being accepted as a full time student once you graduate from high school. Unless you are a gifted inner city, poor kid, your chances of getting a scholarship are nil; especially with your SAT scores and your dad's income.
