Interesting coincidence. I lived in Montgomery county before moving to Chicago. Your right, UIC is a great school. My niece went there. As you know, the admissions people weigh a lot of different factors when making their selections. They don't even know who will apply next year and there's certainly no way anyone could predict whether you'll be chosen. If you could ask them today, they wouldn't be able to tell you because they want to weigh your credentials against other people who are applying.

So, what can you do? Do your best on the SAT and find three or four other schools that provide the atmosphere and the curriculum you're seeking. You have no choice but to be flexible. In fact, your career success will probably depend more on how you handle setbacks than how you handle successes. Good luck and keep your options open.
