Laptop For High School Student

Best laptop, high school student, 600 to 800 dollars? We Answered:
Depends what kind of games your playing. High end video games (ones that are just coming out like Final Fantasy 14 and Starcraft 2) or just games like tetris. Anyway if you want a laptop for just small arcade like games, you do not need much but for the higher quality games make sure you get a laptop with a Good Graphics card(I guess 1 gig of memory would be sufficient) , Ram(about 4gigs would be decent), and possibly a Quad Core processor(Intel i7 is one example). If that's too much then get a Dual core processor instead. But yeah for the regular arcade like games I would recommend you spend like 300 dollars on a laptop and it will do just fine, and make sure you get Microsoft office on that laptop so you can transfer your work to a high school computer or from a high school computer onto your laptop easily. And since you are in high school the hard drive doesn't need to be major probably 250gigs of space.I won't recommend any brands like dell, sony, HP, etc. because the system specs are way more important(what I just listed) When you figure it out you can either browse websites like Bestbuy.com for premade laptop deals and click the specifications to check on them or just build one on a website like dell.
Good luck I hope this helped.

What is a good laptop for a high school student who needs it for all classes? We Answered:
As it is only for high school, I would recommend getting a MacBook.Go to this link: http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/We…
I would reccomend getting the middle one, it has a 2.4Ghz dual core processor and 2GB of ram. That is perfect for your needs.
You would probably be ok with the first model too. I wouldn't recommend the black model only because the only difference is color, 90GB, and $200.
Unless you really care, I would go with the second model. It is what i own now, and I LOVE it........
email me at stevesrick782@gmail.com if you have any more questions or prefer to not buy a macbook

Affordable laptop for a high school student? We Answered:
Hi Dan,You are correct about getting more for your money by purchasing a PC. It sounds like you need something with lots of RAM and a fast processor. To get a good understanding of what laptops you can afford, I’d recommend checking out this too from Microsoft called PC Scout, which you can find at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows… You go to the site, click the orange "Lets Get Started" button enter in what you’re looking for in a laptop (and your budget), and it’ll point you towards some potential matches.
I did a quick search for you on the PC Scout and found a laptop you may be interested in, Toshiba Satellite M505-ST5408. It has a quick processor and 4 GB of RAM and starts at just $799. It also only weighs 5.2 pounds so it won't break your back to carry it around a NY campus! This just one many laptops you can find on the PC Scout site, so I encourage you to take a jaunt around the site yourself and see what stands out to you.
Cheers,
Cassandra

What kind of Laptop should a High School Student Need?We Answered:
Look for a computer that you are going to use for atleast the next five years of your life. You should look for some of these qualifications:
-Should come with Vista
-At least 2GB of RAM
-At least a 1.6Ghz processor
-250GB of hard drive is good for saving all those papers, reports, and pictures you'll have during college and senior year in H.S.
-Some type of virus protection (Norton if possible)
-Trail Version of Microsoft Office (So you can have it for free for a few months until you can buy it)
You'll find out that things like webcams that usually make laptops 100 bucks more wont even be worth it. Everybody I know who has a laptop with a webcam doesn't even use it.
I just bought a HP compaq presario cq60 for $450 at best buy. It has a HD widescreen and it even came with a number pad and a duel core processor. Laptops with this much stuff usually costs over $1,000. So I got a good deal on it. You should check out this laptop and even others at best buy. They have a lot of good laptops for under $500.

What laptop would you recommend for a high school student? We Answered:
As you can see from the other answers, different people would have different opinions.I would recommend you to check ProCompare.com. They have a recommendation engine that ranks laptops (and other tech products) based on ratings and reviews from a community of trusted IT professionals. They also have a cool personalization slider that lets you personalize the results based on the criteria that are most important to YOU.
