High School requirements for Nursing?

We Answered:

well i asked one college/university and they said I need to have at least a B in English 12, at least a c+ in chemistry (I'm not sure if its 11 or 12) and you need at least a B in bio 12.

but you should just call them and ask, because different colleges/university's have different requirements.

Howard Said:

In Nursing Program but wants to be a Physician Assistant?

We Answered:

I can't think of any reason why shouldn't go ahead and become a CNA. You will learn skills that will be valuable when you study to be a PA- like taking vital signs. You will also get an introduction to medical terminology. You may even be able to do a little part-time CNA work while you are in college. That would be GREAT experience. You will learn how to communicate with patients as a CNA. That will be very helpful if you become a PA.

What CSU's have Undergraduate Nursing Programs?

We Answered:

As far as I know Long Beach and Fullerton are not for people who are already RNs

Check out the CSU-Mentor site. I think the majority of the campuses have nursing programs. Too many to list. Unfortunately the program is impacted at all the campuses and it is very hard to get in.

Steven Said:

Will this affect my path in Nursing school? I am not good at math?

We Answered:

There is only one way to be good at math. You must do the homework. Look around for a brush up course and catch up with the rest of the world. If you do the homework from the beginning, you will not be lost. Being able to do math shows that you have problems solving skills. It also shows you have the tenacity to stick to it and do what is required.
I was where you were. Later in life I decided I was too smart to be held back by math and embarrassed at how bad my basic skills were. I started college later in life with the idea to take some interesting classes. . .but first remedial math and remedial algebra. I was lucky enough to get a great teacher that actually made algebra fun and easy. I ended up majoring in accounting. Never say you can't do something. . .make a plan and do it. Take those classes in the summer when you graduate or do it part-time sooner after school. Not everyone gets in nursing school and if that's what you want, go get it.
