Film studies is going to give you the knowledge of understanding how to convey the message of a movie, so yes you could be a director or Production Designer things that have to make the decisions about the overall look of a film. Or you could do something like being a film critic or yes if you wanted to you could probably get on at a news station but that is a lot more about getting the facts than telling a story. I found that type of job pretty boring but I love film studies and think it's a pretty good degree
