What are some good physics websites for high school students? We Answered:
http://phet.colorado.edu/index.phpWe had to use this when I was in grade 11 and 12 for physics, it has good simulators and what nots.

What are some easy topics for a high school Physics experiment/ thesis? We Answered:
You could just do an experiment on friction - different surfaces, different inclination angles, etc - and have a car goign down it. Little bit basic. You could do something with magnetic fields, such as eddy currents (aka. magnets!). You could do potential energy conversion into kinetic energy on different parts of a rollercoaster (just build a paper rollercoaster with a marble as the cart). you could determine which shapes mosteffectively reflect light. You could oberve parachutes and what happens when objects of different mass are attatched or the parachute itself is made bigger. You could observe how a tennis ball bounces after being dropped. Theyre just a few suggestions? Im not sure what 4th year high school is, but those are some basic experiments that you could expand on. Best thing to do is just google!http://www.sciencebuddies.org/science-fair-projects/recommender_interest_area.php?ia=Phys&dl=9

Those sites have a major long list of good ideas!

Can anyone help me find a research topic about high school physics? We Answered:
Going "green" is very popular these days. Maybe something involving alternative energy such as solar power. Conversion of solar energy to electricity could be an interesting physics / engineering topic.Ivan Said:
Canadian high school student - need Physics 12 for University Science program? We Answered:
No. Really, once you get those first year marks, it is almost like high school never academically happened. However if you are going to take a Bachelors in Sciences in university, I believe physics is a required course to take in university, so taking physics 12 would only make your life easier down the road. Plus, I know it is a section on the MCAT (medical college admissions test), so best to get all the practice you can get!Good luck! See you in med school :)

Question for physics high school students...?We Answered:
Personally, I would take the interesting and challenging class over the simple and dull class any day. Being in the simple and dull class would be so pointless. Then again, I enjoyed physics (see my sn), and I found it relatively easy compared to my fellow classmates.I took two years of physics in high school: a rigorous Physics Honors curriculum comparable to AP Physics B, and a year of AP Physics C. Though Physics Honors was difficult, it was a blast because we had projects like simulating an Apollo moon mission and a physics movie project. AP Physics C was not as fun because the schedule was tight because of the set curriculum (we did mechanics and E&M).
I think that for a teacher, it would be more rewarding to see some students rise up to the challenge and truly enjoy what they are doing though some students may struggle. In the alternative everyone does well but nobody enjoys physics for what it is. You don't need to make the curriculum impossible; challenge students to apply their knowledge in a variety of different ways (not just problem sets). Sure some students are only in it for the good grade, but is that your job to give out as many justifiable A's as possible? High school is a time to stimulate students and open their minds.
