Private High School
Casey Said:
is getting into stanford without going to a private high school harder? We Answered:
well if your in a small town public school it prob isn't as challenging as a private school. i would say go to the private school bc it'll show more discipline, etc. but there is not a difference b/w getting accepted from a private or public school. i go to a public school, and one of my friends was accepted to stanford.Carole Said:
Are students who attend private grade school in NYC able to matriculate at a public high school? We Answered:
Students who attend private grade school in NYC are able to matriculate at a public high school. The curriculum at one of the specialized high schools is superior to that of a private high school. Stuyvesant is well known, as is Laguardia, Brooklyn Tech and Bronx Science. The private school education does not necessarily give you a leg up on admittance to a specialized school. There are some really good public schools in NYC.

Can a private high school demand guests of their student to shave in order to attend a prom dance? We Answered:
Im afraid so. Its a private school and can inforce any rules they see fit.Herman Said:
Is private high school really that different? We Answered:
Yes. Not the students per se, but the actual school. They are usually a lot smaller and organized. All of the people seem to be almost clones of one another. Public schools seem to have move people with more diverse interests. But I wouldn't say one type of school have people who are smarter or better than the other. Just because the parents decide they want to pay for their child's education, that doesn't really make the kids and different. I don't think there is much of a noticeable difference really, besides the school its self. Go to either. And btw, if it helps, I go to a private school and some of the people here are really dumb. All aren't smart and completely good. People have been caught smoking, and doing other bad things. They're just like regular schools, with regular people.

What would you want to learn in a private high school? We Answered:
That's a great question, then. I'm not being a smart-*** or anything, butWhy do you want to go to a private high school?
lol, if you go to edit, you can add little details to your question. I hope you see this answer, though.
Nothing is wrong with private school. I went to one for middle school and i made a lot of close connections. It was probably my favorite school. I just asked because why would you want to go if you couldn't even think of a reason you wanted to go.
But say stuff like you already said. "it will increase my chance to be accepted into a top-ranked college".
"smaller class sizes mean that i will have a closer connection to my classmates"
"a smaller student:teacher ratio will give me more opportuity for interactions with the teacher"
"the quality of teaching is better because teachers focus on curriculum instead of social and diciplinary problems"
"a small school community means that i will have more interaction with a whole school, not just my classes. this will allow me more leadership opportuinities that will be good for my college application."
just stuff like that
