How do I apply to university summer camps for high school students?
Scan in the letters of recommendation and upload them or have the people writing you the letters upload them.
A personal statement usually includes the following. You need a good attention grabber. In general you want your essay to follow this order:
Paragraph 1-2 attention grabber. Think of an experience in your life that really showcases who you are. Be detailed. Discuss something signifcant in your life. It could be anything. Or discuss why you want to be in your profession or what story inspired you to study what you are studying.
Paragraph 3-4. Highlight your academics: GPA, AP and honors classes. What skills you learned in class that will help in succeeding in college. Awards and honors that you have received. Sports or clubs that you are in.
Paragraph 5. Jobs that you have had that relate to your major? Any other things about yourself that you want to include
Paragraph 6: Conclusion
Is there any famous summer camps throughout USA preparing high school students for the SAT?
Summer camps and classes are a waste of time. I got 2 perfect scores in math and reading, but my writing score was only 720, for a total of 2320. I only read this SAT guide, and that is how I got such high scores:
I recommend this guide to anyone seeking to get a higher score to get into a first choice college.
Does anyone know of any summer law programs (like camps) for high school students?
I just did the National Student Leadership Conference for International Diplomacy this last summer, but they also have conferences in Law&Advocacy, National Security, and many others.
You can find more information about the NSLC at: Pre College Summer Programs
There is also a very prestigious program (which I hope to get into myself this coming summer) run by The American Legion called the Girls (or Boys) State programs. These are VERY selective and very fun and involving for those who participate. You can find out all you need to know from this article and the links in it:
Columbia University also has a VERY wonderful program which I've been looking into as well. Information on that can be found here:
