Summer Classes For High School Students

Darryl Said:

Do colleges offer summer classes for high school students?

We Answered:

Oh my gosh there are so many.

Many schools offer them so you'll have to ask around/ do research.

I did a quick search for you.. for a couple colleges..

Just check if the college want to attend offers a program for high school students during the summer.

If not they may allow high school students take a course. (word of caution: make sure you're ready to handle college level work, the grade you get will stay on your transcript forever!)

If you choose not to take 'academic' classes.. there are some programs (such as exploratory programs in science, theater, art, music, math, research, etc. what ever you want.) so just keep your eyes open for opportunities!

Have fun!!!

Lillian Said:

Are there any classes for high school students during summer?

We Answered:

You need to go and see your school counselor and have them tell you your options. Typically, getting classes at a community college for summer is tough because they fill up quickly. Best thing to do is talk to your school counselor asap.

Good Luck.

Shane Said:

wheres a good, cheap summer course for high school students?

We Answered:

Look at community colleges. If you don't know the name of community colleges, Google: Community College, Your City, or State. Look at their websites, search for High School, or Summer Programs.

In my area, high school students can attend community college for no charge. They need their principal's approval to take credit courses, and the approval of the community college. Many of the kids I know take classes to advance, especially private school kids. In my son's 9th grade class, this is how there are many kids in pre-Calculus and AP Calculus AB, when the typical class (for this extremely rigorous school) would be Algebra 2 Trig for 9th grade.

Also, look at the local college websites, search on the website for High School, and Summer Programs. There may be some special programs. And ask your high school counselor, they may have information for you.

Good luck!
