Same thing happened to me, basically. I went to Spain for a month (study abroad program without friends/family), Hawaii for 2 weeks, Harrisburg for a week, and NYC for a week. I wasn't home at all over the summer, but neither were my friends (they were out taking college prep classes, on vacation, and working).

You shouldn't be that dependable on your friends. Do what you want to do. You'll eventually be off to college and probably lose contact with your most of your current friends, so it's better to have the new experiences (rather than being at the mall and movies with your friends all summer). Have fun!

Umm... if they are freshman and you are a sophomore then there is nothing wrong with it. You two are almost the same age. You just aren't supposed to flirt in the program because its unprofessional.

Kaiser! It has the best opportunities for advancement. Any store job is basically a dead end job. All you can hope for at a store is to advance into managing the store. As you have said though, there are all kinds of business opportunities at Kaiser. Once you get out of high school and can work full time, they pay really well, too, and you get really good benefits. They might pay for you to go to college, if you major in medicine or business. See someone in their human resources department and ask about tuition reimbursement.

Also suggest that you read over actual student reviews of many people who attended there and see what grades, test scores, and extracurriculars they had to get in successfully. You also will get lots of information about the school you will not get in a college guidebook.

I know that you miss your friends, but you need to take advantage of every opportunity that comes along. You want to study fashion and this program could be a huge help to you. If you want to see your friends then give up cheer camp. Anything that can help you with your future is more important than cheer leading. (I'm not saying that cheering is not important) Keep in touch with your friends through letters, e-mails and pictures and plan on getting together with them as soon as you can.
