Summer Jobs For High School Students 2010

Stephanie Said:

Are these extracurricular activities good enough to apply for an Ivy League University?

We Answered:

The activities should be sufficient.

However, never mention directly or indirectly the name of a political party in an application. Instead say "a national political party".

Likewise, never mention the name of a religion directly or indirectly in an application unless the college is operated by your religion. Instead, replace "mosque" with "house of worship", "Arabic" with "a foreign language",
"Muslim Club" with "religious club", etc.

My answer to a participant in the activities of any political party or religion would be based on the same principle. It is not the best form to mention religion to strangers who will read your application. The matter has a much to do with etiquette as with avoiding prejudice.
