Volunteering For High School Students

Shelly Said:

Are there any famous volunteering clubs for high school students that are famous nationwide?

We Answered:

Hmmm perhaps something like Rotary Interact or Global Volunteers? I'm not sure if they're national, but I'm sure you could find out with a quick Google search. Good luck!

P.S. It's funny that this is some weird kind of volunteer club turf war now. That 'other guy'...what a hooligan, eh?

Volunteering opportunities for high school students?

We Answered:

You could try your local Red Cross or a food kitchen. If you like working with children with special needs in the summer they have different camps you could help out at. I know where I live the hospital here has volunteering opportunities.

Leslie Said:

Would a high school student be more benefitted by taking an internship or volunteering?

We Answered:

Volunteering your time to good causes always looks good on your resume/application, besides being a blessing to you and those you are helping. You can look into helping with Special Olympics, offering service at your local church, helping a local election campaign for an individual and/or cause you support, etc. Is there a local nursing home that needs volunteers to help visit those living there? Could you organize a group of friends to go at Christmas time to sing songs, etc.? Helping shelve books at the local library may even be a good choice, etc.

You don't have to go overboard, but try to find something that you can feel excited about so that it means something to you besides just being a way to look good for college, and that you feel will really let you help someone else and let you grow at the same time.

Best wishes!
