How can I sue a Department Head at a school?

We Answered:

What are your damages?

It's a privilege to switch classes, not a right.

What do I have to do to become valedictorian at my high school?

We Answered:

To become a Valedictorian, you have to be able to have all A's throughout your 4 years of high school. It's not as easy as it looks, with finals and everything.

I guess what they meant was that Cheerleading takes a lot of time off your schedule, which may make it harder to have extra time to study and do your homework. Good luck!

Do you guys think I can get into an Ivy League school with these credentials?

We Answered:

WOAH. you sure do a whole lot, don't you?
however, extracurricular and achievements in clubs only counts for a small percentage of the overall judging. you haven't taken the SAT yet. Your GPA and your SAT is the first things any school will look at.

Ivy Leagues are the big dogs, you need an amazing GPA, and an even more amazing SAT score. You're in the top 5% of your class, aren't you?

You sure as heck have enough for the leadership quality. From out I can see, I'm guessing you can get in (:

Don't listen to the comment about sports. Yes, colleges do look at sports with an open eye, but that's only if you excel at that sport. My cousin got a full scholarship to Harvard for soccer. Unfortunately, he dropped out because he couldn't keep the grades. I know for a fact, that your involvement in so many higher thinking extracurricular activities (Debate is something that Ivy Leagues respect and like) will definitely make the grade.

But, in all cases, dont be too sure about yourself, and keep working hard. Keep up on all your grades. Good luck, and I hope you can make the grade.

How do I stop parents from harassing students? see details?

We Answered:

These are the parents that every coach/band leader/ teacher dreads!

They will continue to make a rucus about anything and everything. Your daughter has a right to practice her religion, and students have a right to prayer (it cannot be forced upon them by the administration or taught - but it CAN be student lead).

Unfortuneately - these parents have the right to be a**holes. The best thing for you and your daughter is to get with the band director and speak to him/her about the situation with the parents and the constant conflict over the daughter. If the parents come near your daughter - file a restraining order against them. These type of people will continue to make everyone in a hundred yard perimeter of the miserable.
You might also ask the band director to assure that the daughter of the looney parents be escorted by an adult onto and off the field and that she be with an adult member of the staff at all times -- this will prevent accusations by the parents that child is being harmed by other students.

I "know" these kinds of parents - in all of my coaching career I have come up against a few just like them and nothing dissuades their behavior unless their kid leaves your program, administration bans the child, or they die. They are miserable people in general.

Do you think certain classes should be required in college?

We Answered:

Pretty much every college requires you to take and pass at least one college-level math class regardless of your major. You really can't claim to be college-educated and not understand basic math. What if you were asked to report on something concerning science? Or finances? Rates or percentages of any sort? How would you know your report made any sense?
