Well it depends, if your serious in class and are going to take notes, a laptop is useful because all of your notes are organized on your computer. But that's not to say that handwritten notes aren't as good, but what i noticed in class is that the kids with laptops generally didn't pay attention and were playing video games. I would recommend getting a laptop maybe in your senior year or after a while in your junior, that way your used to the work load and can decide if you need one.
