Financial Aid For International Student

Carmen Said:

what form of financial aid could an international student apply to?

We Answered:

No there isn't you will find that one of the condition on applying for a student visa is that you are financially capable of paying your way. That said, if you are desperate for someone to pay your school fees, then you should look for scholarship or trust funds.

Famous and rich people sometime start trust or scholarship to pay outstanding student, check with the educational department or your student union will have a list of all the fund available. You must look at each fund and check what conditions they have and how you qualify.

Most international student that find themselves in this position, because they have spent their money, didn't budget or did something naughty. So, the best thing is to be honest with your parents. If you can't tell them, defer for one semester and go and work. When you are back on your feet you can resume the course again. Might just take you another 6 month to complete the course.

Good luck

We Answered:

you can go to your university international office to find out if they can help you.
you can apply scholarships from that university. check with the university you will attend to find out if you are qualified for any of their scholarships.
you can find on-campus job in the university you will attend. most school allow international student to work on-campus for 20 hours per week. they usually pay you us$5 or more per hour.
you can work as an intern / co-op in a company that is willing to pay you. the best way to find one is thru the university career service center (if they have one)
