For undergraduates, MIT awards financial aid on an as needed basis- they don’t give give academic scholarships, athletic scholarships, etc. As a start, you want to go to the financial aid web page appropriate for prospective international students: http://web.mit.edu/sfs/financial_aid/pro… and look at that information. They’ll note what you have to fill out and submit. I assume Harvard and other schools you might be considering will have similar web pages, and if not you can likely e-mail the FinAid office.They are generous enough to usually make it possible. Don’t expect a free ride.
Graduate school is completely different. There you make arrangements with the individual department within the university.
