Foreign Exchange Student Programs

Armando Said:

Does any one know something about foreign exchange student programs?

We Answered:

If you are from the US and wanting to go for a semester or year program, you have to be 15. If you wish to go to the French speaking part of Switzerland you will also need two years of high school French before you can go.

The top three programs are AFS, YFU and Rotary Exchange. You might check with your high school counselor and see which ones are active in your school. NOTE: The school itself does NOT handle the program.

You can also look here for info:

Exchange programs are expensive, so use these years to start saving up!

Ben Said:

are there any programs where i can go to taiwan for foreign exchange student program?

We Answered:

I don't know of any programs but keep looking! Perhaps you could contact the Taipei American School (my alma mater), they might be able to help you out. Taiwan is COOL!! I lived there for a couple of years in the 70's and I loved it....

Looking for experiences with foreign exchange student programs.?

We Answered:

I can't tell you my story because I've never been an exchange student - only a host mom. But I would suggesting going to http://yfuusa.org/american-students/more… . This is a link where you can contact former YFU exchange students - perhaps even one that went to the country you would like.
Good luck!
