are you talking about undergrad or graduate studies? for graduate study, most US universities will give you either teaching or research assistant positions. that way you can pay for tuition as well as living in the US. you can also look for faculty who can sponsor you --- you can be a "target" student and work for them. as for undergrads... i'm actually not sure.
