Allan Said:

Do I need to pay International Student fees if I married with a US citizen?

We Answered:

You get the green card about nine months after applying. Until then, you need to pay international student fees.
The amount depends on the university, they all have different amounts

Sharon Said:

an international student living in the uk for 4years. can i pay home student fees 4 the rest of my studies.?

We Answered:

It depends. If you are in the country on a visa, then I very much doubt it since you are still classed as an international student because your 'home' country isn't the UK, no matter how long you have been here.

If you have registered as a citizen (ie have a British passport) then you might be classed as a home student. You'll need to get intouch with the local education authority where you live to see if they can give you some more advice. You can find a list of LEAs on the studentfinancedirect website here:

Rodney Said:

Can an international student pay in-state fees?

We Answered:

Your answer depends on your legal status here in the US.

If you have a green card (legal permanent resident) or you are a US citizen then you are considered in-state.

If you are here as an illegal immigrant... I don't know... most just lie on their application and say they are US citizens.

If you here as an international student with an F-1 visa then you are an international student on admission to college. You will need to make sure you have an F-1 visa in order to be admitted as an international student. If you have any other kind of visa, it must be switched over to an F-1 visa first prior to admission and registration of classes.

Good luck.
