My University (SUNY Binghamton, NY) has its own Online Apple Store. I DO NOT get a discount at all from there or the normal Apple student purchase website, so I doubt you'll be able to get one. A couple of years ago, I bought the first Gen Nano and recieved 10% off. Now that is not the case.

'All passengers aged 16 years or over must present valid National photographic identification for all UK domestic flights and for all flights between the UK and Republic of Ireland.'

That's not very clear to me, but it sounds like ID that is recognised nationally. When I travel with Easyjet domestically, they have accepted anything, in fact I try something different every time, my work photo ID, my competition race licence, an IOSH card, a first aid card. All have had my photo and name on and they've accepted all of them.

The only problem is that you're not a UK national, but none of my ID I've used has stated my nationality. I think you'll be ok, but probably best to give them a call to check:
