International Travel Insurance?We Answered:
Citizen of Brunei Darrussalam, Israel, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore and South Korea do not need a visa to travel to the United Kingdom and all other countries of the European Union. Should you hold another citizenship you will need to apply for two visa, one for the United Kingdom, and a second one for the Schengen countries on the European continent which covers all EU countries except Bulgaria and Romania. The visa for the United Kingdom needs to be applied for and paid for online. You also will need to get an appointment at the USCIS Application Support Center in St. Paul to have your biometrics and fingerprints taken. The application form needs to be printed out and mailed together with your supporting documents and the biometrics enrollment to the U.K. Border Agency at the Consulate General in Chicago. Visa application in general are decided based upon the supporting documents provided; a visa interview is only required in exceptional cases when the paperwork does not suffice for a positive decision. The U.K. does not determine the required bank balance for a general visitor visa application. It requires you to have enough money to support and accommodate yourself without working or help from public funds, or you will be supported and accommodated by relatives or friends. The bank balance also may depend on the itinerary you provide, someone who plans to stay at 4-star hotels will for sure need more than a holder of an international youth hostel card. France for example requires at least $100 per day of stay plus the cost for transportation and insurance.

The application for the Schengen visa needs to be addressed to the country you enter first if you stay in each country for about the same time or to the country in which you plan to stay longest if you have a main destination. Schengen visa in general need to be applied for in person at the Consulate General which consular district covers Minnesota. For the most bigger countries having several Consulates in the country it will be at Chicago, for smaller countries it may also be New York or Washington. The procedures and requirements are similar but details may be different dependent upon the country you apply to. I therefore could only provide general remarks.

To apply for a Schengen visa you will need to have a travel insurance which
• covers all Schengen countries
• covers at least €30,000 [~$50,000]
• includes hospital treatment
• includes repatriation flights in case of severe sickness

how much would an international student gonna pay in the US?We Answered:
Several things wrong with the person above's answer. If you are not a permanent resident of the US and not a citizen (not sure if you are) you will NEVER be considered an 'in-state' resident, even if you live in the state for over a year while attending school.
If you are an international student (once again: if you are not a US citizen or permanent resident) all schools will REQUIRE that you have health insurance (usually through the school itself, as it's cheapest) or you will not be able to attend class. This is one of the many requirements that international students must comply with if they want to attend university in the US.
Tuition depends on where you are going to school. If you attend community college, tuition can be as little as $2,000 a year (even for non-residents), state universities will average around $25,000 a year, and privates can be up to $50,000 a year, although most are less than that.
I usually don't recommend that international students attend community college in the US since it does not provide the environment that allows a lot of social interaction with other students (since there is usually no on-campus housing and many students are non-traditional in that they are older, working full time, or parents). If you have family/friends over here, however they will provide the social aspect that you will need to be able to stay sane when you are going to school here.
Do your research and see what institutions are best and most affordable for your qualifications. Also, read up on the requirements for international students to study in the US. Keep in mind that as an international student you will also not be eligible for any federal student aid available by filing the FAFSA (this includes all federal student grants and loans).

International student from MN, USA planning eurotrip? We Answered:
Cheaper flights: you can try last-minute deals. Airlines don't like to fly with any empty seats. So at a certain point (typically 24 hours) they decide to cut their losses and declare the seat available for much cheaper. This means you have to have your bags packed in a wait-and-see mode, but can result in good deals. Look for this option on any travel website such as travelocity, etc. Also, if you're willing to travel with multiple connections this often cuts down on costs. I've noticed irish carrier Ryan Air gets you from Ireland to the continent pretty cheap if you can get to Ireland....Good luck.
