There are specific scholarships for specific categories of people. For example: Science majors, latina/latino, non-traditional student (i think that means older than 24 & never attended college before, but i'm not sure), african american, polish, education majors, merit (good grades), financial need, etc. You need to speak with a Financial Aid Officer at a college to see if you qualify to apply for one there.

Their are lots of school that give financial aid to International students as well as hefty scholarships to international students you just have to look around and call or email the schools! Most schools will generally want an audition but your going for a graduate degree so I assume your pretty good, so that shouldn't be a problem for you. Some schools that I would suggest you contact are, UCLA, USC, Arizona State University, Northwestern, University of Texas, try NYU, Manhattan, and Rice University (Shepherd School of Music... really good program I here! and there are many many more... just have to contact the schools and shop around... If your good enough and have good enough grades and meet their requirements they will usually offer you something..... and considering your an international student I bet your pretty serious otherwise that would just be a waste of you time and money... good luck and I hope this helped!
