Student International Exchange

Cassandra Said:

Is ASSE international student exchange program legitimate organization?

We Answered:

I am not personally familiar with them, but they are listed with the Council for Standards on International Educational Travel (csiet.org) - which means they meet moderate standards. You can do more investigation by going to http://www.csfes.org/ (Committee for Safety of Foreign Exchange Students).

Laura Said:

Can you give me the name of reliable sites for International Secondary student exchange programs?

www.csiet.org is the website that lists all of the certified Study abroad programs for high school students. You can go there and look up programs.

Is ASSE International Student Exchange a credible program?

We Answered:

I have heard that it isn't the best. Rotary, Afs, Ysu seem to get a better rating. GOOD LUCK:)

Daryl Said:

Can a 13 year old become an international exchange student?

We Answered:

If you have the potential and skills and determination. If you can excel above all your peers and excel college students then sure, easy. But may sure you can handle the work load, time management, and know what you're getting yourself into. But it all comes down to how good you are at something and if you can prove it or not. Don't try to be an exchange student if you have average skill.

Chances Of Getting Into Rotary International Student Exchange?

We Answered:

The interviews are easy! Take a breath! My friend went to Eduador through Rotary, and another went to Brazil through them, they just want to get to know you!

International Student Exchange?

We Answered:

Hi. I had a really bad experience with this. I worked as a rep for about 6 months. I didn't have any luck with placing anyone (a lot of "almosts.") I had one family contact ISE directly that was in my area and so I had one "lucky" placement where I didn't do the actual matching-up. I did the paper-work and the interview with the host family (drove 1 hour each way to meet with them), called the school and took care of faxing things. But, I never got paid. The person working over me (the regional rep) turned on me and was really mean to me, saying I never "did any work anyway!" She told me originally that I would get the placement fees and the $50/month even though the family came to us. I actually worked really hard, used tons of ink, printing pictures and flyers, hanging them up at high schools and delivering them to my neighbors. Don't do it- I think it is a scam.
