Nice, affordable accommodation in the area of Ithaca, Cortland? (Dryden would be better)?

We Answered:

Well there are NO hotels or motels in Dryden, itself, and the 1st link below is to a directory and map of motels near Ithaca.

However, if she's a student at Cornell University or some other nearby school, I would contact them directly about it, because they frequently have programs for visiting parents where they can put them up in unused dorm rooms, especially during the summer months when most students are gone for the summer!

Good luck, and the 2nd link below is to the "Contact Us" page for Cornell University...

(relatively) cheap accommodation in Tokyo from October till February..?

We Answered:

What kind of accommodation do you have now?

Even if your school is in Bunkyo, you don't have to live in Bunkyo. Japanese students are going to college by train, some of them are riding trains for 1, 2 hours or even more.

I think you can go from Yokohama to Bunkyo in about 1 hour. So you don't have to move to another place.

If you must move, you can find an apartment in suburb of Tokyo. And it could be as cheap as 60,000 yen.

BTW, guarantor is necessary for Japanese and foreigners alike.
