Lots of Estate Agents are also Letting Agents,so you can enquire there.Also check out your local paper,some landlords rent privately.
You will need to prove that you can afford the rent and you may be asked to asked to provide a guarantor,thats someone whose willing to pay the rent if you get into differculties.
Theres also a deposit to be paid at the start,can be between 4 to 8 weeks rent.Which is returned minus any damages.when you leave.
Other things to consider is : council tax;electric;water and gas bills.
