Homes 2 Rent
Terrence Said:
I have 2 homes to rent what is the best way to get started in renting out housing for section 8?We Answered:
You did not state where you were locaated, or rather where the rental properties where located.I would suggest locating the local Housing Authority for the cities in question and let them know you are interested in renting to Section 8 tenants.
They will most likely have a large list of people that have Section 8 vouchers and can work with you to place one of those families.

Why are edmonton homes for rent so cheap? I heard they were expensive but I found many 2 br homes for 900/M.?We Answered:
I live in Edmonton and I can tell you if you need a decent house in a decent neighbourhood the rent will vary from $1575 upwards. You can rent a townhouse for approx. $1300 plus. A half a duplex rents for approx. $1650 per month. You will need your first month's rent and a deposit (usually equal to a month's rent)I personally don't like craigs list. I would much rather check out rentals at
http://edmonton.kijiji.ca/f-housing-hous…
Here you can see pictures of the houses and most will give you an address so you can check them out on a map.
There are some neighbourhoods you may not want to rent in and at the prices you quoted I'm guessing they would be included in that. Get yourself a good map of the city and circle in some of the more desirable areas like where your children may be safer.
Anywhere south of the river though the areas closer to the university and Whyte Ave are congested with students and apartment buildings.
West of 124 St. and areas North of 128 Ave. are generally good. As with any city there are pockets of good places in amongst the bad ones but if you don't know the city stay away from them until you get to know it better. The SW part of the city is the newest area and you will find the prices will reflex it also.
If you sign a year's lease your rent should stay the same until it expires. The city is not as stretched for rental accommodations as it was even a year and a half ago when the occupancy rate was less than 1%.
I'm glad to hear you've been reading the Edmonton Journal - I always suggest that those thinking of moving into our city read it because you can find a lot of information in it.
Hopefully this has been of help to you and if you need more information add a comment and I will try to get you an answer.
Good Luck

homes.comThis is where I look when I move around in SoCal... should work up there too. Just type in your basic search criteria... when it pulls up the homes... click the rental button. then it will let you narrow it down by price

Forget the brokers, look for sales which say- "For Sale by Owner"this is your best chance.
