Certainly from outside the EU, students have always had to pay full fees. My guess this is more than 9K. Not sure about EU though

Yes, international students need exactly the same experience as UK residents, but it is probably best to stay on the safe side and get a bit more (I don't know if it is too late for that now). As an international student, there is a smaller number of places available to you, and often the strongest candidates are international so you are up against a lot of competition. However, international students pay much more than UK residents, so all universities like to have a lot of international students because they get more money from them!

As long as you have prepared well and chosen the right universities, I'm sure you have a good chance of getting into medical school. Good luck!

There is a reason for the difference in fees and it is part of the background to the financing of the institution. The British residents paid taxes for years and years - those taxes helped fund the institutions and pay salaries of the teachers, even when the taxpayers had no children in the school system. The parents of British students pay taxes every day of their lives - income tax, property tax, poll tax, etc.etc.etc.
Foreign students pay none of these.
So, in order to equalize the contributions they are asked to pay higher tuition fees.
It makes sense when you think about it.

I find it a bit creepy. I would never bother a parent. Totally weird, absolutely pointless. I understand that she cares about her future class, but it is a little too "big brother" for my taste. I have had hugely successful and happy relationsihps with pupils without ever meeting parents.

Personally I did the same, I consider home as where I currently reside. However my family home is my parents' house.
For official purposes home is where your voting/tax registration etc is located, (Usually parents' address).
