The notion that you should pay more because you spend more time on the premises isn't crazy, but it has no basis in law, which usually views the number of tenants as the key factor. You should refuse to pay additional rent based on this idea.On the other hand, I can certainly see their point about the heating bills. Although it would be hard to quantify exactly, you are incurring additional cost for your roommates and should discuss it with them. I think you should foot a larger part of it.
