If you are going to remain in the same borough then moving should be fairly straightforward.

If not it can get complicated, but not too difficult.

I can't see any reason why 'they' would need a letter from your current landlord if you are just stopping the claim for that address and transferring to another.

Once you have sorted out the date you are moving, get in touch with the Housing Benefit people of the borough you are moving to very quickly (hours, not days - a personal visit can speed things up).
Make sure your new landlord knows what is going on.

If in doubt the Citizens Advice Bureaux are very helpful and have access to local legal details.
