Student Accommodation Advice

Terry Said:

student accommodation dilemma?

We Answered:

I think you should stay in the nicer accommodation. Purely because it's nicer and halls tend to get worse (condition wise) as the year goes on.

You will make friends on your course and probably some of them will live in halls so you can hang out with them there and make more friends. Not everyone that starts Uni stays in halls, alot of friendships are made through going out during freshers week and student nights.

Plus you'll have an advantage living with 2nd yr students because they'll fill you in with all the details about where to go what to do etc.

Everyone is in the same boat, i'm sure you'll be fine. It all starts off with the people on your course - by going to lunch with them, going for a drink after lecture etc. Then naturally you'll meet more people.

Good luck and have fun!!! Uni is the BEST experience enjoy every minute of it!

Looking for accommodation in Stuttgart. Need advice from locals?

We Answered:

There are busses connecting and you should find them on the VVS site too.
However I wiould suggest Esslingen which is between Stuttgart and Nürtingen and connects Stuttgart by S Bahn and Nürtingen by regional train.
Also Stuttgart and Nürtingen are connected by regional train far better than using Stadtbahn and bus and faster too.

Esslingen just seems great for your needs inside Esslingen Busses can be a bit complicated in the evening so take care you can reach S bahn by walking in worst case.
Feel free to mail me for further if you feel I can help.
