Student Accommodation Leeds

John Said:

Can I rent a piano at a university accommodation for students?

We Answered:

If your university has the option of majoring in music, there are probably pianos in the music building that are available for you to play on. And in every college dorm I've ever stayed in, there was a piano in the basement available.

Long term accommodation in Leeds for a postgraduate student?

We Answered:

Try Unipol, you can get groups together to find a house to share, also check out gumtree, there's often single rooms posted on there. Avoid woodhouse! Hyde park is the really studenty bit, headingly is the slightly more up market student bit. If you have a car, I'drecommendt living in roundhay -that's lovely!

Accommodation in Leeds?

We Answered:

You could probably shack up in a student house for the short term, try Unipol next to Leeds Met's main campus. Alternatively you could contact some of the bigger landlords, Avtar isn't bad and neither are Samara, bith of whom I've used in the past (I'm sure they'll have websites if you Google them). There are bound to be hundreds of empty rooms out there especially in the Hyde Park area. Avoid places like Harehills and Chapeltown as they can be unpleasent. The LS6 area is full of students and young professionals, I lived there for about 8 years and it's pretty vibrant but rents shouldn't be too high (apart from the more expensive parts of Headingley and Meanwood). Good luck and have fun in Leeds.
If you have any more questions you can email me or contact me on my 360 page.

Wanted: Student Accommodation local to Leeds/Bradford Airport?

We Answered:

The area you are looking at is Yeadon and it's not that cheap. However Horsforth is down the road and will be a lot cheaper. The largest student population is in Headingley and caters for most student needs, cheap beer, pizza shops etc. Headingley is about a 15 minute drive/ bus ride from the airport, but is not far from Leeds center. Hope this all helps.

Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO) Licensing

see here

--------------------------------------…

You can check with the local council

http://www.leeds.gov.uk/Housing/Multiple…

also ask if the landlord is registered

I am not sure of the details for england but as there is no smoke detectors I guess this is not the case here as the building would be inspected prior to garnting a licence.

Perhaps the uni and college would be able to offer some more info.
