Student Accommodation Reading
Pamela Said:
what are appropriate accommodation to how can I help him understand what he's reading? We Answered:
The best thing to do is just to keep practising with him, and go through each thing that he reads multiple times until he is able to understand it.Set a schedule so that he starts the work on time, and that way he may find it easier to learn if he is learning within a more structured environment.
As he has average intelligence and average hearing, he should be able to pick things up at a fairly good rate, just be patient with him, and he will get there in the end.
Donna Said:
AIMS-dps: can administer read the reading content area to students w/iep w/o it being written in their iep?We Answered:
NO! Even if it is something on "allowable accomodations" for regular ed kids, you MUST abide by the IEP plan, no matter what else is in place in the school. Call a new IEP to discuss options.Stacy Said:
Hopefully I will be going to university in September I have 2 interviews in March, (please read on)?We Answered:
Hi!Good luck for your interviews in March :) With regards to student accommodation, it really does depend on the provider, or whether the Universities you are applying for have their own accommodation. Some providers like ourselves have a two step process when it comes to applying for student accommodation. The first step is applying and this registers your interest in the accommodation, but does not tie you to a contract, so you can do this at any time, even if you haven’t fully decided which University will suit you the best. Once you have applied you can then ‘book’ your accommodation which guarantees you a room and enters you in to a contract. We always advise to make sure your place is fully confirmed at the University of your choice and that you have you A Level (or equivalent) grades in place before signing on the dotted line! Others just have the final step so keep an eye out.
With student finance check out www.direct.gov.uk/studentfinance. You can use the calculator on this site to determine how much financial help your entitled to before you have a firm offer. Hope this is of some help!
