You apply next year. But bare in mind that regulations are changing from 2010. If you have an offer of a place for 2010 get a letter from the Uni saying so. That way you may stay under the old regs.

• 24 April 2009 - If you are applying for student finance which does not require any financial information to be provided.

• 26 June 2009 - If you are applying for student finance which does require financial information to be provided.

If you miss these deadlines, your application will be processed as soon as possible, but your first payment may not be available at the start of term.

This form should be returned within 9 months of the start of your academic year, otherwise you may lose your full entitlement to student finance.

Application number changes to Personal ID

From 2009 entry we will not be using the application number to identify applicants. In its place will be using the Personal ID.

The Personal ID is a 10 character number presented in the format 123-456-7890 and will be used, together with their password, to access Track.

Where are you based? If you are based in the UK, the best people to speak to would be your local support services - in Scotland this is SAAS and in England this is LEA. When you apply for support from them, you will not have to pay it back until you have finished your course. If you are applying for a postgraduate course, the funding bodies are limited. If you are not able to have one of them finance you, you can approach your bank for a 'career development loan'. They will give you what you need and you do not have to pay it back for a year.
