First let me say congrats on going back to school!
It's not an easy choice since you are leaving a well paid job.
The best thing nowadays is schools are just now starting to realize that "normal" people aren't the only ones with brains!
I, too, have a marked disability. It will help with your financial aid b/c they are going to give you allowances for disability. You can have preferred seating, a tutor, or an interpreter present if you need it to make sure you get a fair chance to prove you can do the work if you understand it.
If you can get more aid because of it and you don't plan to work, do it. But, you can also qualify for work study. It's a HUGE cut in pay from your job, and it only pays minimum wage and once a month, but it will put a little bit of pocket change in hand for you as well.
