Same thing happened 2 me and it was my LEA's fault not the student loan company.

i think usually it says that until they receive your mums details. So keep an eye on it. Are you post-grad or under-grad? You said you were in your second year which usually makes you an under-grad. Im pretty sure either way you still get grant.

yet he's cheap? why the hell are you both going out and eating dinner if he's having stress paying bills? You should be eating at home where its cheaper...
You are insecure, no doubt about that, if the 7 year relationship had trust issues and your starting to compare the two relationship? You're are singlehandedly destroying your own relationship, you had no reason he is untrustworthy, other than his ex thought he was untrustworthy...

You want to go on vacation maybe you should take him, show him your willing to share both of your money with each other,

if you cant stop comparing your relationship to the other, maybe its time for you to leave.

I'm surprised he doesnt have trust and commitment issues himself, and if he doesnt you need to wake up and realize he looks at you differently...THIS IS A GOOD THING, He doesnt think you are materialistic (misses "He's cheap"), he doesnt thimk you are like her, whats wrong with that? His relationship with her didnt make it!!!
And if you are having the same problems as she did you might be headed for the same end unless you make the change...
He has proven to be a very trustworthy, priorities in the right place male... he acts like an adult (2 jobs to make sure his home is paid for and his student loans are in good standing)... which is a hell of a thing( sorry guys, in my experience with my dad, whos 53 and acts like a freaking 12 year old)

You should be see through this random crap you assume is wrong with him, its your insecurities that are making this relationship harder than it needs to be....
Go see a counselor (for you) to try and get over the insecurities you have, because it seems his end is under control. Then start thinking about the two of you as a whole, instead of his money and your money, its "our" money, as a normal relationship progresses, you both help eachother out in hard times and make sacrifices for the relationship....

All and all, what you said here ends with you being insecure about your relationship because he isnt doing for you what he did for her.... (God I hope not) because then you will end up at the same end....
