Any existing UK bank account will do. Would be a good idea to get your student finance paid into the same account that your Child Benefit and Tax Credits are paid into. It will be easier to then show the uni what hardships you are facing, then you could be eligible for a Crisis Loan from the Uni, which you don't have to pay back.

You are not entitled to claim Income Support if you are recieving student finance.
