Fill in the form from Student Finance Direct and send it off. This is for tuition loans (as an EU student you are not eligible for grants or further loans, I believe). This covers the tuition fees for your course.

The other thing you got just sounds like a guide, it's not a form, is it?

It's best to get your student finance form sent off as soon as possible, although you can apply up to 9 months into the academic year.

It took me about a month all in all, but I did it online... It's alot quicker. You fill the form in online, they send you a form in the post that you have to sign and send back along with any documents they ask for. After that it takes about 2 weeks for them to get back to you with how much you're entitled to.
